Born and raised in NJ, Master Mark Lee began learning Tae Kwon Do when Grandmaster Choi opened the Franklin Park location in 1989. Under Master Rich James, Mark earned his Black Belt and was given the opportunity to own and operate the Franklin Park school in 2006. Now in the 15th year of business, Master Mark Lee's Korean TKD location in Franklin Park has over 150 active students and Black Belts in Universities across the United States. Master Mark Lee believes the mind, body, and spirit are made stronger by training in the Korean martial arts.
Grandmaster Ye Bong Choi
Our Kwan Jang Nim (Grandmaster)
Born on Sept. 9, 1942, in South Korea, Kwan Jang Nim (Grandmaster) Y.B. Choi studied under the founder of Tae Kwon Do, General Hong Hi Choi. As one of the first black belts of the sport, Kwan Jang Nim won the Korean National Heavyweight title in 1961 at the age of 19. He was commissioned to teach the korean martial arts to the German Military in 1969. The same year, he won the European heavyweight title in Tae Kwon Do. In 1970, Grandmaster Choi opened his school in New Brunswick, New Jersey. For the last 40 years, Kwan Jang Nim spread his love of the Korean martial art to thousands of students of all ages. He taught at Rutgers Cook College for 28 years and at one point owned and operated 6 locations in NJ. As Kwan Jang Nim approaches 80, his legacy continues; his students now own schools in Canada, Morocco, Venezuela, Columbia, Russia, Germany, and 5 locations in the US: Easton, PA, West Windsor, South River, and the Franklin Park, NJ Headquarters.
